Innovative applications and industrial development for a sustainable future

Over the years, MED MARINE has complemented its consulting activities with the development of innovative projects at both national and international levels, participating individually or within ATI/ATS partnerships in fields such as robotics, industrial design, and sustainable manufacturing.

ARS Robot

Robotics / Health

Project focused on the development of an intelligent caregiver robot to support elderly people: assistance with daily activities, safety, and autonomy. The system integrates sensors, actuators, and adaptive control logic for mobility, fall prevention, and social interaction.

  • Funding: Filas S.p.A.
Details
  • Mobile platform with proximity and vision sensors.
  • Monitoring of environmental parameters and emergency call handling.
  • Voice and tablet interfaces for communication.

Disegni+2 and Disegni+3

Design / IP

Participation in national calls issued by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development to enhance Italian design through the development and protection of new products. The contribution led to original industrial design solutions and the subsequent granting of patents.

Details
  • Prototyping activities and aesthetic–functional validation.
  • IP filing and management (designs/models, patents).

H2020-SMEINST-1-2015

Horizon 2020 / Composites

Project submitted under Horizon 2020 – SME Instrument, based on Industrial Invention Patent No. 1427470 (27/02/2017). It concerns a device/method for the cost-effective production of large constant cross-section composite structures with long/continuous fiber reinforcement, with applications in aerospace, marine, and renewable energy sectors.

Details
  • Low-waste continuous process for composite profiles.
  • Industrial scalability and cost reduction per linear meter.

Green & Smart Building (Lazio Innova)

Urban / Sustainability

Funded by Lazio Innova (POR FESR Lazio 2014–2020). Objective: lightweight structural systems for furniture and urban construction, aimed at air purification from fine particulate matter through the use of selected plant species.

  • MED’s role: technical partner for design and development.
Details
  • Low-impact modular systems with bio-based components.
  • Integration of phytoremediation plants and environmental monitoring.
  • Solutions for smart buildings and urban well-being.
